Not to be missed is an evening of camaraderie with industry VIPs.

Monica Aspe Bernal, newly appointed Head of Mexico's Ministry of Communications and Transportation, will highlight the tremendous opportunities for business created by Mexico's international bid to create a unique, public/private 4G/LTE wireless broadband telecommunications network that will revolutionize telecom services and spur innovation across the country. The shared wholesale mobile network, known as Red Compartida, is considered the most important telecommunications infrastructure project in the history of Mexico and includes 90 MHz of continuous spectrum on the valuable 700 MHz band, among the largest tenders for spectrum in the world.

Joseph Kopser co-founded the mobile app RideScout, which aggregates all public, private and social ground transportation options enabling consumers to evaluate transit options in realtime. In September 2014, RideScout was acquired by Moovel GmbH, a unit of Daimler AG (Mercedes-Benz).

Watch out! It's coming... businesses will be severely affected as they strive to adapt to the avalanche of innovative software-driven technologies hitting the marketplace. These changes include a shortage of qualified workforce, and shifts in management, operations and culture.

Virtualization of Network Functions and Software Defined Networking are signficantly changing operations within the enterprise, as well as in the companies that provide services and products to them. Roles, workflows, cultures and skill sets must adapt to the open-endedness of the new elastic structures. Employees and organizations ready to bridge the gap will be well-positioned for the disruption and innovations still to come.

The future for telecommunications and the world economy lies with the Internet of Things (IoT).  IoT is giving rise to an entire ecosystem for interconnected devices, objects, systems and data all working together.  As healthcare, transportation, energy, manufacturing and government increasingly deploy IoT, many opportunities arise.  Mobile Network Operators are seeking to play a pivotal role in IoT- driven business transformation by offering integrated value-added services, not just airtime, to their enterprise customers across any industry or market.

Trying to grapple with the challenges of data gathering, transmission and analysis, to interoperable standards, to the questions of privacy and security, many operators have grown increasing disillusioned with their home-grown solutions.  The emergence of a purpose-built Application Enablement Platform for MNOs is considered the key catalyst for the broad adoption and commercial success of IoT going forward.  The turnkey secure and scalable technology platform lets operators offer innovative revenue-generating IoT services and applications under their own brand, without having to focus on the underlying complex ‘plumbing’.

ILS Technology/Telit will demonstrate a commercial end-to-end use case of how the components come together within the ecosystem to make real business difference.  The scalable “crawl – walk – run” business engagement model makes getting started easy, fast, and cost-efficient for organizations large and small.

While at lunch, check out the oneM2M Showcase demonstrations showing how the oneM2M global standard is being used.

  • Fred Yentz, President and CEO, ILS Technology/a Telit company

The Internet of Things (IoT) and virtualization are driving and defining the Network of the Future.  Future networks will be need to deliver the highest levels of service to not only human end-users, but also machine-based end-users.  Powered by enterprises’ digital transformation, the Internet of Things will transform industries, from agriculture to hospitality.

To effectively enable this transformation, the networks of tomorrow will require scalability to meet the peak demands of some 50 billion connected devices - all while fulfilling capacity demands of digitally connected end users, who are downloading or live-streaming video, connecting with cloud-based applications, and demanding more from the network.  Virtualization of the network, from the core to the access point, offers many benefits to network operators, however, implementing such a transformation cost-effectively while maintaining an active network is no small task.

Join us to hear from a prestigious group of leading technologists on how networks are fundamentally changing to create a more agile, intelligent, and capable network, in addition to the new services that IoT and virtualization will enable.  The CTOs assembled will share valuable insight into both the common challenges they face in the midst of network transformation as well as those that are unique to their sectors and businesses.
